Dinosaurs extinction
I believe that dinosaurs extinction is closely connected to the gravitation pull of earth. The gravitational pull of earth should be much less during the dinosaurs time, compared to present time. Because of the less gravitational pull, the dinosaurs were able to grow much bigger. During this time, some thing caused the gravitational pull of the earth to increase, which could be due to collision with another celestial body or due to meteors shower. With that increased gravitational pull of earth, bigger dinosaurs were unable to move swiftly, that caused their demise. The smaller sized carnivores (such as raptors) died to lack of food over period of time. This lead to the growth of smaller sized mammals.
No end to divisions
We the humans always seek to see the differences among us and try to form groups. That may be part of our genes. The differences could be religion, language, skin color, history, caste, sect etc. etc. I always wonder is there any end to these divisions? If we keep on dividing like this, ultimately we will end up with our self. We can find reasons to divide very easily, but a very few to unite. But do the divisions bring us any advantage? If you see the history, I don't think so. The division might satisfy once ego for a short duration, but in the long run one will definitely is going to lose a lot.
There are lot of divisions in the recent history. India and Pakistan were divided based on religion. Then within India, the states were divided because of language. We don't stop there, now we see regional differences. Now within the same Telugu language state, we want to divide Andhra, Telangana etc. based on the regional difference. I don't think there will be an end to this and the communities are going to suffer because these divisions than they hope to gain. Does Pakistan grow richer because it separated from India, I don't think so. We lose more time in quarrels, than real growth. Unfortunately the divisions are more appealing to our genes, than the calls to unity.
Being born in the Indian sub-continent, I always wonder why India and Pakistan were divided in 1947? We share common history, common values and common goals. We as communities co-existed for several centuries. Then why we were divided? I believe it is because of the political ambitions/misplaced beliefs of a few individuals, this sub-continent was divided in 1947. What we gained with this division? Multiple wars, corrupt and centralized governments, lack of progress and poverty. Look at China, which also started at the same time as Indian sub-continent, but made much progress during this time frame. Do we need to accept the judgement of our great grand gathers of 1947, I don't think so. We as next generation, always can correct the wrong notions and misplaced beliefs of our great grand fathers. My dream is to see united Indian sub-content, which trusts in unity, human values and respect for all faiths by the year 2047. That will bring lasting peace not only to the Indian sub-continent, but stands as a role model for the entire globe.
